I can't seem to get my new GyroBall started. Is it broken?
This is a common question and you will be pleased to know that 999
times out of 1,000 your GyroBall is not broken. It is not often that a
new GyroBaller picks up a GyroBall and starts it up the first time. The
process should be entirely new to you and will take a bit of practice
to get used to.
The most common reason for start
difficulties is the lack of power when pulling the cord. Remember to
wind the cord up tightly, staying in the groove of the yellow rotor,
and turn the GyroBall with the rotor facing downwards. Now in whichever
hand you feel most comfortable and have most control over, really whip
that cord out and in a downward motion. Make sure that you pull it
straight and not off at an angle as this may result in the cord sliding
out of the groove on the rotor and could possibly become tangled in the
axle. (If this does occur do not continue to pull on the string, but
slowly guide it out of the GyroBall by slowly spinning the rotor and
unwinding the string from the axle.)
The speed of the cord assisted start should be around 2,500 RPM and can
be checked by resetting the Highest Score function on the RPM counter.
(If your model includes one.)
In conclusion, don’t be shy
with the starter cord, really let it rip! The next thing you will have
to learn is the wrist motion that is required to speed up the spinning
rotor. At these early stages the wrist turns should be fairly slow and
in a wide circular motion. Just double check that you are using your
wrist and that your arm hasn’t taken over. Timing is crucial as
you have to get your wrist turns in sink with the spinning speed of the
rotor, “getting in the groove”, so to speak.
Once you have mastered this, the key
to increasing the speed is to gradually make your wrist turns quicker
and narrower. Gradual remember! After some practice you should now be
able to spin much faster and now that you have mastered the technique,
only your strength can stop you from reaching those 14 or do I dare say
15k spins. As an additional reference when learning to start your
GyroBall please view our short video clip -- click here.
Does My GyroBall come with any kind of warranty?
Dynaflex International supplies all Gyroballs with a Lifetime Warranty
or replacement, upon speaking with customer service representative.
Please review the FAQ section for instructions on repairing minor
problems by your self. By doing this it avoids wasting any valuable
spinning Time!!! Please email us providing your first and last name
with invoice number if you would like to send a ‘sick”
GyroBall in for examination.
*Note that Lifetime warranty covers
manufacturer defects only; please do not send your GyroBall into
Dynaflex International until you have spoken with one of our customer
service representatives.
My counter has stopped working. What should I do?
Like all electronic equipment, malfunctions can sometimes happen. In
the first instance please follow these instructions.
The simple action of removing the
batteries and replacing them again can sure such
‘corruption’ in the unit. It can happen that the logic
board driving the display will get ‘corrupted’ and needs to
be reset. This again is quite rare, but if you do the following it may
cure the problem.
Step #1: You simply pop off the Counter using a finger nail and/ or flat head screwdriver
and remove all six small crews with Philips screwdriver that secure the tiny
circuit board to the outer shell.
Step #2: Upon removing all screws the board will come away and reveal
two small batteries. Nothing else will suddenly ‘fly out’
when you do this, so it’s all a relatively simple procedure.
Step #3: leaving the board off for about 30 seconds and then replacing
it and screwing the screws. Try powering it up and, hopefully, all will
be well again!
Failing success in all of this, please email us to organize a replacement.
My GyroBall isn't as smooth as it used to be. What's wrong?
Tt is okay that your GyroBall isn’t as smooth and / or quiet as
it was when it was first purchased. Once the GyroBall becomes
comfortable within itself it will make some noises as you pick up high
speeds. This is normal, no need to worry; nothing is actually wrong
with your GyroBall. As long as the GyroBall continues to pick up those
high speeds and you can feel the resistance produced from the GyroBall,
you are on the right track!
*We do NOT recommend starting your
GyroBall across your clothing, carpet, furniture and /or anything
similar. Also do not use any sort of lubricant and/ or leave in a dusty
area because this can affect the performance of your GyroBall.
Best starting methods when using
your GyroBall is the starter cord, that comes provided in packaging,
thumb start, and also don’t forget about our very first battery
powered Docking Station!
I swear this is not an excuse, but I am sure my GyroBall isn't as fast as it used to be
The GyroBall is a precision product, which has been carefully designed
to allow that inner rotor to spin to almost unbelievable speeds! When
you think about, 15,000 RPM is actually 25o revolutions each second,
powered by nothing other than your hand…250 revolutions every
second?
After having the skilled Gyro
technicians research this matter they have discovered the simple
problem of everyday use. There is a very fine layer of fibers and dust
particles that can reach into the inner core of the rotors axle, which
will eventually slow down the axle from generating those high speeds
once felt.
There is only one maintenance tip
for all of you that love using your GyroBall and who want to keep it in
the best condition ever. Get a compressed air source by using an air
compressor and/ or purchasing a compressed air can that is generally
used to clean your computer. The high pressure air will be able to
remove the dust particles and/ or fibers that have been able to reach
the inner core preventing your GyroBall from spinning at high speeds.

Can you start the GyroBall without the cord, or is this just a myth?
This can actually be done and to be honest it is relatively quite easy,
it just takes a little practice. Below is our best advice for doing so.
We would suggest that you hold your
GyroBall with the yellow rotor facing up towards the sky. Then strike
the GyroBall as though you are snapping your fingers across the unit,
your thumb will brush across the yellow rotor, but not putting any
pressure down on it. Immediately begin to move your hand in right to
left fashion with yellow rotor still facing up. With one strike you
will see the yellow rotor begin to spin, if the strike was enough the
rotor might even swivel while spinning.
Also the new Dynaflex Docking
Station is another fast & effective way to start your GyroBall.
Please view under link titled “Gyro Exercisers” for further
details.
*We do NOT recommend starting your
GyroBall across your clothing, carpet, furniture and /or anything
similar because this can allow tiny fibers to get inside of your
GyroBall and affect its performance.
How do I replace the batteries in my counter?
Changing the batteries is actually quite an easy task; although we are
hopeful that it will be quite a while before it becomes necessary for
you to have to do this. There is an Auto On/ Off feature means that the
batteries should last for 3 to 4 years, or course there is always a
possibility that one cell will go faulty in which case you should do as
follows.
Step #1: Pop off the counter from your GyroBall using your finger nail
positioned at each of the support ends and/ or a flat head screwdriver.
Step #2: You’ll notice 6 small screws; then obtain a tiny philips screwdriver to remove.
Step #3: The circuit board will now come away from the counter body.
Step #4: You will then see two batteries stated below, depending on which you may have:
A.) If your counter is Grey in color the battery will be GP377
B.) If you counter is White in color the battery will be GGP392
Step #5: These are easily found in any jeweler and/ or office equipment store.
Step #6: Replace and reinstall screws, pop the counter back onto your GyroBall and you are ready to spin again!
The whole job should take no more than 2 to 3 minutes and don’t
worry when doing this there is nothing inside of the counter that can
possibly pop out or fall out of place.
